Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS)

The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), located close to the Malta International Airport and with a campus in Qala, Gozo, currently offers programmes of studies ranging from Foundation Programme (MQF Level 2) to Master’s Degree Programmes (MQF Level 7) level.

The ITS works closely with the highly esteemed Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Finland and Institut Paul Bocuse in France to offer its Degree programmes in Bachelor in International Hospitality Management and Bachelor in Culinary Arts, respectively.

The ITS campus in Qala, Gozo, hosts The International School of Diving Safety and Medicine (ISDSM), a joint agreement between ITS and DAN Europe in collaboration with the Professional Diving Schools Association (PDSA). The school includes top-notch diving and diving safety equipment, some of which are the only of their kind on the Maltese islands. It aims at promoting a broad academic education program by designing specific course curricula in the field of Diving Safety, Research and Medicine, focusing on the sustainability of the diving industry. Through the ISDSM, a Bachelor of Science in Diving Safety Management was launched in 2020, with practical sessions being held within these ITS premises in Gozo. The pioneer BSc in Diving Safety Management generated a great interest on an international level since its first academic year.

The ITS prides in offering students not only theoretical knowledge but also extensive hands on experience, through the ITS training restaurants, kitchens and hospitality laboratories. ITS students are also exposed to further training through the Local Industrial Trade Practice and International Internship, which is included in the students’ programme of study.
